Artist Description:

SKY DRAGON & THE COSMIC EGG

“Sky Dragon & The Cosmic Egg” aims to portray the original concept of mythology - what is mythology, where did mythology come from, how do we interpret mythology in our current lives? Some of the earliest mythos of our world can be traced back to the Vedas, the ancient Sumerians, even pre-Sumerian in and around the regions of what some historians call Scythia (or Eurasia). Many of these ancient cultures believed that the universe was born in an egg, a symbol of life from whence the sun, the moon, and humans emerged. In this piece I portray the serpent, which is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom, as well evil or good depending on how you see it, as the counterpart to the cosmic egg it swallows so that it might rebirth itself again in a sense, thus completing this cycle of life. From Quetzalcoatl to Kukulkan to the dragons often found in Chinese & European tales of old, all over the planet these forms of serpent worship hold a very real meaning to the ancients. Scholars often associate these plumed feathered serpents with a comet or meteorite causing great cyclical catastrophes throughout earth’s history. From planets to gods to beings from other realities all are interplaying here as archetypes like Jupiter (Zeus) or Saturn (Kronos). These mythos are deeply embedded in our human psychology and soul, it is our kundalini power that lights up our chakra system, ancient gnosis that has been eradicated from our memory.
