When I first started Threyda, creating the logo was one of the most difficult challenges. I had plenty of experience with design at the time, but branding—especially identity logos—was a completely different beast. A logo isn’t just a design; it’s a symbol that should stand the test of time. I wanted something that felt timeless—something I wouldn’t feel the need to redesign years down the road.
It also needed to capture the essence of what Threyda stands for: a balance between structure and fluidity, art and function, simplicity and complexity.
I knew I wanted the logo to be abstract but still recognizable. The design was heavily influenced by Middle Eastern calligraphy—an art form built on a deep exploration of patterns, abstraction, and unified symbols.
At its core, the Threyda logo represents both a water droplet and a flame—two opposing elements brought together in harmony. This concept of duality is at the heart of everything we do. Our art is a balance between structured, geometric compositions and fluid, organic forms. The same philosophy extends to our clothing—where simplicity meets intricate detail, and reversible designs reflect our belief in hidden depth.
Not long after we introduced the logo, something unexpected happened—an artist created a hand-drawn version of it after seeing our digital design. Seeing it reinterpreted through another artist’s perspective was a powerful moment.
It was the first time I saw Threyda’s identity take on a life of its own, inspiring someone else’s creativity. That moment stuck with me. It was a small but meaningful sign that Threyda was becoming more than just a business—it was turning into something bigger, something others connected with.
Looking back, I’m relieved that this logo still feels right after all these years. It has become a symbol of everything we stand for—and everything we’re still becoming.
What do you think of the Threyda logo? Does the meaning behind it resonate with you? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
