    J.R. Slattum

    J.R. Slattum is a self-taught artist, his work entering the surreal world of innerspace. After a near-death experience in 2007, inspired by a personal enlightenment, Slattum fell into a world of paint. Using the point of the paintbrush as a focus, he views the process of creating as his meditation. His subjects gravitate towards the inner realms of psychology, philosophy, and the nature of being. Through his art, he invites his viewers to travel within. Working from his studio in Portland, Oregon, his work is collected internationally, thanks to a deep following.

    Instantly in love

    This was the first print i ever ordered through threyda, prior to that i had only been familiar with the hoodies. I was instantly in love and buy prints very often now. This ia my favorite of all time.

    When I saw it, I knew I had to have it... this piece spoke to me. Not only is it a wonderful work of art, but it also has great depth, and the emotion and idea in this piece are complex and powerful. I do not regret my purchase, and I would definitely make it again! Slattum and Westerman prove to me the power behind art, and definitely points towards their ability to display idea in a visual sense. Grand, impressive, and powerful.
