METAPHYSICAL SURREALISM - ARTIST’S MEDIATION
"Metaphysical Surrealism is the practice of meditation and dreaming, of mysticism and higher consciousness, of the energy pulsating through our electric universe. These paintings I'm creating are richly drenched in the sacred and divine, using tools of logic, love and function. My aim is to diversify and expand the parameters of conversation into a visual language making the invisible visible; encrypting multi-layered elements of non-linear content based in myth, science, philosophy, ancient occult symbolism & sacred geometry, to challenge and disrupt the apathy of the unconscious mind. In doing so I’m discovering a relationship with the very physical real world created by consciousness and the underlying unseen energies, or gnosis, that is locked in our DNA like a fractal continuum of subtle constant change.”
I am moved by the Naturalists' suggestions for expressing their desire for utopia, a world influenced by the beauty of art in harmony with nature and the inner world of, opening up and recognizing the continual cosmic flow of information - William Blake, Helena Blavatsky, Hieronymus Bosch, Benjamin Franklin, Alphonse Mucha, HG Wells, Mary Shelley, Maxfield Parrish, Nikola Tesla, Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson, James Maxwell, Michael Faraday, Henry David Thoreau, Immanuel Kant, Buddhist, Transcendental Meditation & ESP practitioners, Yogis, Reishis & Gurus, all of whom enter into the mystic to find their truth, casting spells into their work to do their magic on humanity.
I am particularly partial to the work of Emanuel Swedenborg, knowledge passed down to me by my great grandfather, Frank Very, who was an expert on his life teachings. As a result, my process is one part infused with this magic, mediation, and manifestation of my lineage, and two parts scientific, working with actual practitioners, constantly researching, documenting, & (re)articulating everything learned.
I’m a completely self-taught artist and I think perhaps that is what lends itself to the act of Metaphysical Surrealism being autodidactic in a way, a very conscious, present & self-reflective process to inform new relationships on this planet with each other and to nature, reality, human thought, and above all beauty.
The intention in art is not meant for entertainment, to sedate you and take you away from your life. Its purpose is to make you think, it should serve as an active role in the artist and viewer’s experience exposing ideas that society has trained us to reject or been so ridiculed even censored that they’re labeled taboo. Art ought to divert us away from retroistic thinking thereby allowing space for a more objective, open-minded curiosity to form and interpret reality through, a visionary articulation of things that sometimes can only be felt ."Humanity is our uniting religion, breath our uniting prayer, and consciousness our uniting god." He who controls the past controls the future. Those who see no future are obedient in the moment and those who do not understand the past do not understand who they are. Simple wisdoms passed down through the ages by the wise old sages. The fact is your connection to the universe is so incredibly powerful the only way to prevent you from experiencing it is to keep you in a state of paranoia and fear. I think Threyda hoodies are the only hoodies I’ll buy anymore. I have two of their sherpas, this hoodie, and a pullover hoodie. I almost bought another today in fact, but it sold out before I could! Their clothing is simply outstanding.

From the moment I saw this piece on an insta ad, I knew it had to be mine. I was in the process of saving money up, while coming back and checking the listing legitimately everyday. I panicked when there were only 2 left and I hadn’t saved up enough yet. A few days later I went back and the standard size was all gone:( I can’t lie I shed a tear bc I had been visiting everyday in excitement. I put my name on the email list for restock, with not much hope knowing this was a limited piece, but I figured i’d try anyway! And I’m so glad I did bc I got a text saying it was back in stock, one random day. When I tell you I RANNN to the listing, and there was only 1 available, but I was not missing my chance. Me and this piece were meant to be together. I jumped the gun and ordered it on a payment plan. I waited so patiently for it to arrive and when it did, IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. This thing is out of this WORLD. Every single aspect from the quality of the print and the colors, to the beauty of the amazing laser cut frame and the iridescent strips detailing it. I’m actually soooOoOoo obsessed, I could stare at it all day long. Every time I walk by and look at it, I get so excited it’s mine. LIKE ITS LITERALLY MINE 😊 I just have to say I would give infinity stars if I could. And I have the most amazing place to hang it in my first ever apartment. This is my favorite pullover, hands down. The feel of the material, the design. It's all excellent.
I love the look and style and feel of this jacket. It’s also very warm! Came just in time for the coldest days we had here in the South and was a life saver. Only one little complaint I have is the bottom button has already come off but it’s a super simple fix and doesn’t take away from any functionality or really any noticeable look either. I’ll have it fixed soon. Can’t wait for my next Threyda jacket! Need more Sherpa lined options those are my favs!

This is a perfectly fitting well made shirt. Thick enough to keep you warm but light enough to wear all night. Quality work and an excellent responsive team.
Fits like a glove. I’m in between size medium and large.. originally got medium and was a lil too snug. Large is perfect 👌 fairly quick exchange process as well.
